Things I've Written (professionally speaking)

This is where I keep the work people have actually paid me to write. I spend most of my time following markets, digging through companies and making sense of whatever business or tech story has everyone talking that week.

Sometimes that takes me down a completely different rabbit hole, with personal finance finding its way into the mix too. Anyway, these are the stories that made all those open tabs worth it.

What kind of writing do you do?
rhea
I mostly cover US markets, with a focus on stock highlights, breaking news, and trends across business, finance, and tech. I love connecting the dots between things I come across, following a good rabbit hole, and finding an angle that hasn't already been covered to death.
visitor
Are you available for freelance work?
rhea
Yes, I occasionally take on freelance writing projects alongside my regular work. I work remotely, so location is never a constraint. Whether you have something in mind or are looking for fresh ideas, I'd be happy to chat.
visitor
What's your favorite thing to write about?
rhea
Original reporting is one of my favorite parts of the job, especially getting to interview people and hear firsthand what goes on behind the scenes. Sector rotations and stock highlights are a close second. I enjoy tracking where the money is moving and what's catching Wall Street's attention.
visitor
How did you get into writing?
rhea
I've loved writing and public speaking since my school elocution days, but COVID gave me a lot more time to figure out what I wanted to do with that love. At 15, I landed my first writing gig scripting videos for FinTok influencers about side hustles and personal finance. My payment? About $50 and a course to learn more about finance. Not exactly a fortune, but I was getting paid to write and learning something new in the process. Fifteen-year-old me thought that was a pretty sweet deal.
visitor
Shouldn't your portfolio be a little more professional?
rhea
Probably, but chances are you'll remember the iPod. We have the internet and AI at our fingertips, yet somehow everything has started looking and sounding the same. I figured I'd have a little fun with mine.
visitor
Got a story, a project, or just want to say hello?
rhea
I spend enough time writing emails. I'd love to read yours at rhealobowrites@gmail.com. Story tips, interesting projects, unsolicited fun facts, and good old-fashioned hellos are all welcome.
